The Registrar of the university shall be appointed by the Board on the recommendation of the selection committee for the purpose by the board:
provided that the first Registrar shall be appointed by the Chancellor after consulation with
the Government for a period not exceeding three years on such terms and conditions as the Chancel
lor may determine. |
The Registrar shall be responsible for the custody of the records and the common seal of the
university.He shall be the ex-officioi secretary to the Board and the Academic Council and shall
maintain the minutes of and meetings. |
The Registrar shall place before the Board and the Academic Council all such information as may be req-
uired for transcating business in the meetings. |
The Registrar shall in addition to as specified in clauses,exercise the powers and perform the
function as under. |
To make all necessary arrangements for the conduct of an examination,training workshop,seminar
or any other programmes of the university. |
To perform all such functions as are assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor,the Board or the
Academic Council. |
To submit to the Chancellor the copies of the agenda and the minutes of the meeting of the
Board,Academic Council or any committee. |
To sign the power of attorney,varify pleadings,appear in the court and authorise a person to
appear for and on behalf of the university in a suit or other proceedings field by or against the
university. |
To take disciplinary action against such classes or catagories of employees as may be authori-
sed by the Vice-Chancellor. |
The salary,allowance and other conditions of service of the Registrar shall be such as may
be prescribed by the ordainances of the university from time to time. |
The Registrar shall retire on attaining the age of sixty years. |
