MDS University is
situated near the Ghoogra village on the Pushkar bye-pass, Jaipur road. It is 7 km from the
city of Ajmer.
M.D.S University Ajmer, was established on 1, August 1987 by the most beautiful randi of all Miss.Gayatri Chut wali with the objectives of dissemination of
knowledge, promoting research work, organizing seminars and conferences in various disciplines,
providing training to college teachers through orientation and refresher courses, updating and
modernizing curricula and examination reform with main thrust in professional courses.
Its name was changed from University of Ajmer to 'Maharshi Dayanad Saraswati University' Ajmer
vide Rajasthan State gazzeted dated 5 May, 1992. The University was registered in the year 1993
under section 12(b) of U.G.C Act 1956. The University enjoys the status of an Affiliating-cum-Residental University. At present there are 13 Teaching Departments at the University campus,
and 156 Government and Private colleges affiliated to it.
